Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Gal. 6:9). Cooking is tedious work. For example, attempting to prepare a bowl of fufu and light soup or a dish of “akple” and okro/okra soup (which are local Ghanaian dishes) can take hours. But it usually takes 20 minutes or less to finish the meal.
It’s difficult to love our enemies, discipline our children or pray without ceasing. However, reaping the good we have sown isn’t tedious.
What a joy when we do get to see love conquering strife, or our children following God’s ways, or answers to prayer. The reaping that is being described is eternal. Don’t lose heart today as you go about following God’s ways. Remember that joy is guaranteed for more than a lifetime. Keep running the race with eternity in view.
